T-Mobile USA Tops Wireless Carriers for Overall Business Customer Satisfaction

T-Mobile® Get More® Promise Delivers Great Customer Satisfaction to Businesses

BELLEVUE, Washington – 05/04/2005 — Business professionals have several choices when it comes to selecting a wireless service, and when it comes to receiving a great wireless experience, business leaders rated T-Mobile USA highest in customer satisfaction for business wireless service.

J.D. Power & Associates announced the results today of its first-ever Business Wireless Satisfaction StudySM. In a survey of decision makers from small businesses to large enterprises, T-Mobile scored higher than the other four national carriers and well above the industry average.

T-Mobile ranks highest in five out of the eight factors that drive overall business wireless satisfaction. The wireless service provider scored significantly better than the industry average in four of the eight factors including sales representatives and account executives, billing, promotions and cost of service.

“T-Mobile’s huge focus on building customer loyalty is paying off,” said Mike Butler, chief marketing officer for T-Mobile USA, Inc. “Our leadership in business customer satisfaction is a direct reflection of T-Mobile’s Get More® promise, to deliver the absolute best value in the wireless industry.”

Additionally, business customers look to T-Mobile for innovation and commercialized product leadership. “Our customers get the products and services that meet their needs today,” said Cole Brodman, senior vice president and chief development officer for T-Mobile USA, Inc. “Customers are seeking new and better ways to communicate and we are enabling this by offering integrated voice and data communications services utilizing our GSM and Wi-Fi networks.”

T-Mobile scored particularly well for the knowledge and expertise its sales representatives and account executives bring to business customers. “Today’s announcement demonstrates that we not only offer great value and a superior device line-up, but we also have a highly consultative sales force,” said Michael Cote, vice president of business sales for T-Mobile USA, Inc. “T-Mobile brings deep product knowledge and best-in-class customer and technical support to the table for our business customers…it’s why we’ve been recognized in the industry for business solutions such as BlackBerry and Pocket PCs.”

With T-Mobile, business customers also have the choice to use their same wireless device and same phone number while traveling internationally. As one of Deutsche Telekom’s strategic business units, T-Mobile International is the only mobile communications company to offer service on both sides of the Atlantic with a single digital technology standard, GSM.

Last year, T-Mobile received the highest honors in J.D. Power and Associate studies measuring overall Customer Care Performance, Wireless Call Quality Performance and Wireless Retail Satisfaction. T- Mobile was also the highest-ranking carrier in the 2004 U.S. Wireless Regional Customer Satisfaction Index Study in all six geographic regions.

More information about the J.D. Power and Associates study can be found at www.jdpower.com. The 2005 Business Wireless Satisfaction Study is based on responses from wireless service business customers at more than 1,500 U.S. businesses in small and midsize-to-large segments. Interviews were conducted during February 2005.

New Ad Campaign Highlights T-Mobile To Go As The “Straight Up” Prepaid Solution

New Ad Campaign Highlights T-Mobile To Go As The “Straight Up” Prepaid Solution

T-Mobile® To Go Rescues Consumers Burned by Hidden Fees from “PoserMobiles”

BELLEVUE, Washington – 04/13/2005 — Get prepaid wireless phone service without getting burned. That’s one of the messages in a new national broadcast advertising campaign by T-Mobile USA, Inc., to highlight the company’s prepaid service, T-Mobile® To Go.

The first of two new T-Mobile To Go television spots, “Bowling,” debuted recently and features a quirky set of wanna-be urban hip-hoppers posing as a pseudo-prepaid company called “PoserMobile.” This slapstick posse tackles a prepaid wireless user in the middle of a phone call to inform him that he has run out of minutes – to the customer’s surprise – because of additional fees that include “25 cents to connect and an extra dollar a day.”

Fed up with being short-changed, the customer decides to switch to T-Mobile To Go, which offers significant value and flat-rate, per-minute pricing based on refill card value purchased. The commercial ends with the tagline, “T-Mobile To Go. Straight Up Prepaid.”

“Our national advertising campaign helps to reinforce the T-Mobile To Go service as being genuine and ’straight up,’ offering consumers the best value in prepaid wireless with no annual contracts and no hidden fees,” said Jim Goodwin, vice president of Integrated Marketing for T-Mobile USA, Inc.

The second television ad, called “Restaurant,” will debut in mid-April. Both ads are slated to air on cable and network television through the end of May during popular prime-time shows. In addition, T-Mobile To Go is supported by radio ads with the “Straight Up” theme in key markets as well as by online advertisements, new retail collateral and a special Web page at T-Mobile.com. The ads were conceived by Publicis West, Seattle.

T-Mobile To Go introduced new lower per-minute rates in March. The service also offers a selection of stylish handsets for customers to choose, including the popular T-Mobile® Sidekick® II, which was introduced to prepaid service in February. In addition, the T-Mobile To Go rewards program, called Gold Rewards, offers consumers additional minutes based on usage.

T-Mobile To Go customers can make voice calls for as little as 10 cents per minute. Starter kits and refills can be purchased at more than 90,000 locations nationwide, including T-Mobile retail stores, authorized dealers, and national retailers such as Walgreens, Circle K, 7-Eleven, Wal-Mart, Target and CompUSA.

T-Mobile USA Makes Wi-Fi Easier than Ever

T-Mobile USA Makes Wi-Fi Easier than Ever

T-Mobile HotSpot Customers Get More With Easy to-Use Software to Enhance their Wi-Fi Experience

BELLEVUE, Washington – 03/12/2004 — T-Mobile HotSpot customers Get More value today as T-Mobile USA, Inc. introduces free software that makes locating and using its 4,200 HotSpot locations simpler and more convenient than ever before.

The T-Mobile Connection Manager software enables customers to automatically detect and logon to the T-Mobile HotSpot network, and is the only software program that provides the most up-to-date location information for all T-Mobile HotSpots.

The Connection Manager software is available to download for free at www.t-mobile.com/hotspot. Starting in April, free CD versions of the software will also be available at T-Mobile retail stores and participating T-Mobile HotSpot locations.

Whether using the T-Mobile HotSpot service to surf the Web or to conduct business through an employer intranet site, the T-Mobile Connection Manager makes it simple for customers to get online with a Wi-Fi enabled laptop or PDA. The T-Mobile Connection Manager software quickly detects T-Mobile HotSpots and signs the user on to the network without the hassles of configuring network settings. If a customer uses company-supplied VPN software, the T-Mobile HotSpot Connection Manager will launch the VPN user interface once the customer is logged on to the Wi-Fi network.

In addition, the T-Mobile Connection Manager has a built-in directory of T-Mobile HotSpot locations, so busy customers can find the Wi-Fi enabled venue closest to their next destination – whether it’s the nearest Starbucks first thing in the morning; an airport club or lounge during a layover; a Kinko’s branch to put the final touches on a presentation; or a Borders and Books and Music store in the evening.

T-Mobile USA continues to weave Wi-Fi into the fabric of peoples’ everyday lives. “We are constantly taking steps to make Wi-Fi easy, convenient and more secure for our customers. The T-Mobile Connection Manager software continues that effort” said Joe Sims, vice president and general manager for T-Mobile HotSpot. “Now people can easily locate T-Mobile HotSpots on their laptops and can be automatically connected when they come in contact with a HotSpot.”

T-Mobile USA was the first U.S. wireless carrier to embrace Wi-Fi as a complement to its wireless voice and data services. With T-Mobile HotSpot and a national all-digital, GSM/GPRS voice and high-speed data network, T-Mobile USA provides comprehensive wireless service, all on a single bill.

T-Mobile USA Launches CallerTunes; The First Nationwide Ringback Tone Service That Lets Users ‘Represent Their Style’

Initial Trial Offer Gives 30 Days Use of the Innovative Service, and Alicia Keys Bonus CallerTune “Karma” At No Extra Charge

BELLEVUE, Washington – 12/08/2004 — T-Mobile USA subscribers across the country now can ditch the dull switchboard ring that their callers hear, in favor of a tune that represents their unique style, with the launch today of T-Mobile’s ringback tone service, CallerTunes. T-Mobile is the first company to launch a ringback tone service nationwide.

If you use ringtones, your wireless phone ‘rings’ with your favorite song or other audio clip when someone is calling. That’s great for you, of course, but the people calling you still hear the old, dull ring until you answer the phone. Now that has changed. As a CallerTunes subscriber, you can select audio clips for the people calling you to hear before you answer the phone – whether it’s for specific individuals, groups of friends, or at specific times of the day – giving you hundreds of ways to represent your style.

“The unprecedented popularity of using hit song clips as ringtones has demonstrated the desire by T-Mobile’s subscribers to personalize their phones with content that is in-tune with their lives,” said Michael Butler, Chief Marketing Officer, T-Mobile USA. “Ringback tones are the next evolution in personalizing wireless communication through music and audio. With the introduction of CallerTunes, we’re introducing yet another fun and innovative way for our customers to use music and other audio as a way to represent their style to friends and family.”

T-Mobile has partnered with the three largest music companies – SONY BMG Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group – as well as key independent record labels and other content providers, to give subscribers the power to express themselves through the broadest collection of exciting ringback tone content to date. From platinum-selling favorites Barenaked Ladies, Beyonce, Disturbed, Simple Plan, Marvin Gaye, and Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz; to rockers, The Killers and 3 Doors Down; and classic artists Santana and Eric Clapton, T-Mobile’s editorial team has culled the best content from a master catalog of more than 10,000 tracks.

As part of a CallerTunes 30-day free trial offer, T-Mobile and Sony BMG’s J Records have partnered to make “Karma” by Alicia Keys the service’s first Bonus CallerTune. For a limited period of time, subscribers to CallerTunes will be able to use free-of-charge a song clip from her multi-platinum, award-winning album, “The Diary of Alicia Keys”.

“This service enables consumers to further personalize their mobile experience, while at the same time establishing an even stronger connection with the artists and music they love,” commented Thomas Hesse, President, Global Digital Business, SONY BMG Music Entertainment. “We’re delighted to be able to help launch CallerTunes with a great song from one of the most important artists in the world today — Alicia Keys’ “Karma” — and we look forward to working with T-Mobile on the nationwide roll out of this new service.”

Alicia Keys is one of the most nominated artists for this year’s Grammy Awards with eight nominations including Album of the Year (“Diary of Alicia Keys”), Song of the Year (“If I Ain’t Got You”), Best R&B Song (“You Don’t Know My Name”), Best R&B Song (“My Boo”), Best R&B Album (“Diary of Alicia Keys”), Best Female R&B Vocal Performance (“If I Ain’t Got You”), Best R&B Performance Duo or Group with Vocal (“Diary” with Tony, Toni, Tone), Best R&B Performance Duo or Group with Vocal (“My Boo” with Usher). She previously received seven Grammy nominations for her debut “Songs in A-Minor.”

Users can represent their style through CallerTunes in a number of ways, including:

– Choosing your favorite audio clips from hundreds of original artist recordings. Users will be able to assign up to eight different audio clips for their friends and other callers to hear.

– Assigning individual audio clips to be heard by a specific caller, or groups of callers. For example, you may choose Marvin Gaye’s “Sexual Healing” to play for that special someone when he or she calls.

– Specifying audio clips for a specific day, or during a time of day. For example, select Simple Plan’s “Welcome to My Life” to play when you’re cutting loose after work or school.

– Since CallerTunes easily can be managed through a T-Mobile phone or on the Web, changing your CallerTunes to reflect your current mood. For instance, selecting Sheryl Crow’s version of “First Cut Is The Deepest” when you’re feeling bittersweet!

T-Mobile subscribers also will benefit from the reliable technology platform built for CallerTunes, and implemented and serviced by Ztango, a WiderThan company, a global mobile music industry leader. “WiderThan’s ringback tone solution, which will be serviced by Ztango for T-Mobile, is a service that millions of subscribers enjoy across Asia and Europe. Now, through T-Mobile, users across the U.S. also will be able to fully experience this fun and innovative service,” said Vern Poyner, CEO, Ztango.

CallerTunes is a network-based offering, making it available to all T-Mobile post-pay customers. As a special introductory offer, the first month of CallerTunes service will be available free-of-charge. Subscribers also will be offered a free Bonus CallerTune that will be rotated with a fresh new CallerTune periodically. The cost for the service is a $1.49 monthly subscription fee, and a one-time charge of $1.99 for each CallerTune.

Users can sign-up and manage their service in three ways: from their T-Mobile phone, they can dial *TUNE (*8863) or go to t-zones® under ‘Download Fun™’; or on the Web, they can visit www.t-mobile.com/callertunes.

T-Mobile® Hotspot Announces Wi-Fi Roaming Agreements With Six Other International Wireless Carriers

From Singapore to San Francisco to Stuttgart to Sydney, Jetting Across the Globe With Wi-Fi Is Now Easier and More Accessible Than Ever

SAN FRANCISCO, California – 11/10/2004 — T-Mobile HotSpot, the nation’s largest carrier-owned Wi-Fi network and a founding member of the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA), today announced its participation with the WBA in a series of roaming agreements with six other major international wireless operators.

T-Mobile USA subscribers will now be able to take their Wi-Fi subscription to the participating WBA carrier member countries. Together with existing roaming arrangements, subscribers can now experience world-class wireless broadband with access to information, communications and entertainment at more than 11,500 Wi-Fi locations within the following countries: United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Italy, Czech Republic, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and the United States.

This announcement further reinforces the on-going leadership of T-Mobile HotSpot and commitment to its customers. T-Mobile HotSpot already provides its United States customers with a world-class, carrier-grade Wi-Fi experience which includes: 24/7 customer service; a Wi-Fi sniffing Connection Manager for ease of use; a T-1 or better network infrastructure; a best-in-class venue partner network; and industry-leading 802.1x security. Now, subscribers can roam at even more international locations.

Participating WBA members include: BT Group (UK), Telecom Italia (Italy), Maxis (Malaysia), NTT Com (Japan), StarHub (Singapore), Telstra (Australia), T-Mobile USA (USA) and, through existing
arrangements, the European operating companies of T-Mobile in Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. It is expected that additional international carriers in Europe
and Asia will join in the roaming arrangements in the near future, further broadening the WBA footprint into which T-Mobile HotSpot subscribers can roam with a single Wi-Fi account.

T-Mobile HotSpot US subscribers will be able to benefit from these international roaming arrangements at no additional charge through the remainder of 2004. Prices for international roaming in 2005 and
beyond will be determined at a later time.

“This announcement redefines the way that international travelers will stay connected while traveling internationally,” said Kyong Yu, chairman of the WBA. “For the first time ever, the customers of our
participating carriers will be able to roam across broader international Wi-Fi networks with one Wi-Fi account. These roaming arrangements set the standard for a uniform and consistent approach to
international roaming that should help drive widespread adoption of Wi-Fi.”

Formed in March 2003, the WBA is one of the pioneers in Wi-Fi/WLAN services collaboration and is focused on improving five key areas for wireless broadband consumers: Global Coverage, Confidence in
Quality, Reliability, True Mobility and Good Customer Experience.

Speaking from San Francisco International Airport, where T-Mobile is serving as host for the WBA’s annual partner conference, Joe Sims, vice president and general manager, T-Mobile HotSpot said, “Our
customers, on average, make more than three international trips per year. These historic roaming arrangements allow our subscribers to stay connected internationally using their familiar T-Mobile
HotSpot account. Additionally, Wi-Fi users from participating WBA carriers can now roam into our world-class network of more than 5,000 T-Mobile HotSpot locations in the U.S. “

T-Mobile HotSpot subscribers wishing to login at an international WBA location must first launch their browser, at which point they will be presented with the WBA member’s roaming login page. Next, they
should click on, or select, the “roaming” link and choose T-Mobile HotSpot U.S. from the list of roaming partners. When prompted, they should enter their T-Mobile HotSpot user name and password. However, if they are a T-Mobile HotSpot customer in one of T-Mobile’s European operating countries, they should use the following format when entering their credentials: username@t-mobile.us.

T-Mobile HotSpot is a founding member of the WBA and is the only US-based member.
